Stephen Koszler
Head Engineer
An obsessive music listener from an early age, Stephen became interested in the role technology could play in its creation during his teenage years. By the time he had figured out what the liner notes of the albums he was listening to actually meant, he knew what his path in life would be.
As an engineer, Stephen constantly strives for the balance between the technical and artistic, with an understanding that the emotion that a sound can induce is where the essence lies. This sensibility for the intangible qualities of sound has enabled him to develop a deep sonic palette to service a wide range of artists and genres. His varied work over two decades in audio production gives him the confidence and experience to take a tailored approach with each new project, harnessing the duality of analog and digital workflows.
Stephen’s contributions have received recognition at both the JUNO and Grammy awards as well as appearing at film festivals and theatres around the world. His credits include Alvvays, badbadnotgood, Sarah Harmer, Holy Fuck, Chantal Kreviazuk, Nick Maclean, Tanya Tagaq, and Whitehorse amongst many others. -
